The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is a statutory body established under the Civil Aviation Authority Act, Cap. 354 (“CAA Act”). The principle objective of the CAA is to promote the safe, secure and efficient development of Civil Aviation inside and outside Uganda. The CAA is responsible for the regulation of air transport, the provision of air navigation and air traffic management services as well as the ownership, operation and development of aerodromes.
CAA is required to carry out its functions in a manner consistent with the Convention on International Civil Aviation and International Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS) prescribed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). The responsible Minister for Civil Aviation is the Hon. Minister for Works and Transport.
