All the Directorates in Uganda Civil Aviation Authority are under the stewardship of the office of the Director General. In addition, the DG’s office heads Corporate, which comprises of support departments including Legal, Internal Audit & Risk Management, Strategic Planning, Quality Assurance, Marketing and Commercial Services, Procurement and Disposal Unit, Information Technology and Public Affairs.
The DG directs the profitable operation and development of UCAA within the legal and policy framework and as determined and agreed by the Board.
Units of Operation
The Deputy Director General deputises the DG on day-to-day corporate business and also takes charge of statutory reporting assurance and monitoring of projects
The Corporation Secretary (CS) provides legal (advisory) services and is responsible for Board affairs.
The Corporation Secretary (CS) directly oversees the Legal Department, which provides legal advice to various directorates, prepares Contracts and ensures ratification of international Conventions and Agreements.
The department carries out comprehensive systems and financial internal Audits and develops corporate risk registers
Public Affairs Department is responsible for the building, enhancement and maintenance of a world-class corporate image
Procurement and (Assets) Disposal Unit deals with all matters of procurement and assets disposal
Strategic Planning prepares strategic plans, measures management performance against set targets, processes statistical information and carries out corporate planning to guide the Authority
Quality Assurance establishes, implements and maintains a Quality Management System based on the ISO 9001 standards and continually improves performance of the organization vis-à-vis requirements and expectations of interested parties.
Marketing and Commercial Services is responsible for the development and management of non-aeronautical revenue sources and marketing CAA services and investment opportunities.
The IT department plans for and provides an information technology platform for operational effectiveness and efficacy.
