Civil Engineer, Aerodrome Planning & Development

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES)

Business Planning and budgeting process.

a)   Support the preparation inputs and make contributions to departmental business plans, budgets and reviews.

b)   Support the development, implementation and review of engineering project work-plans.

Project Management Process

a)   Support the preparation of detailed cost implications for each project by applying best practice Accounting PRINCIPALs.

b)   Participate in updating and preparation of aerodromes master plans

c)    Support the documentation of all projects in Aerodrome Engineering and Development.

d)   Support the development of detailed specifications on each project for use in monitoring and evaluation and sourcing of funding.

e)    Participate in Monitoring projects against the documented milestones. 

f)     Work with contractors to ensure that they fulfill the conditions of the approved contracts.

g)    Ensure full compliance with the Procurement and Disposal of Assets requirements.

h)   Participate in project evaluation by monitoring project milestones and prepares progress reports and early warning when projects are falling behind agreed schedules.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Essential Requirements

a)   An honors bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized academic institution.

b)   At least three (3) years’ relevant working experience in Civil Engineering practice from a reputable organization.

c)    AGE: 25 to 30 years.

Desirable Requirements

a)   Must be a member of Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) and registered with Uganda Engineer’s Registration Board (ERB).

Knowledge

a)   Knowledge of relevant ICAO SARPs.

b)   knowledge of Engineering software like CAD and Project Management software.
