SCHOOL OF DEFENCE INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY VISITS ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Uganda Civil Aviation Authority hosted students of the School of Defence Intelligence and Security of Migyera, Nakasongola District at Entebbe International Airport on 11th August 2025. The aim of the visit was to acquaint the students with issues of border security threats and border security management mechanisms.
The scope of the presentation by the Chief Liaison Officer Airports, Maj. Emilio Ebema to the team included geo-political factors influencing border security, aviation threats and transnational crimes, security zoning of Entebbe International Airport, roles of intelligence in securing borders, inter-agency border security coordination mechanisms and recommended practices in border security management. The students with their instructors and Commandant, were taken on a guided tour coordinated by the UCAA departments of Aviation Security and Public Affairs within the Airport premises.
The Commandant of the School, Col. James Muhumuza thanked the Management of UCAA for hosting them and appreciated the knowledge received. The Director General of UCAA, Mr. Fred Bamwesigye informed the students that the aviation industry is very dynamic and Entebbe is one border point that brings in most tourists in the country and therefore very crucial for the visit.
