UCAA holds Supplier’s Workshop
UCAA held its Annual Suppliers Workshop at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel, Entebbe, on November 11, 2024. The event was led by the Procurement and Disposal Unit under the theme: “Collaboration and Partnerships for Sustainable Procurement.”
The workshop aimed to educate suppliers on the new requirements in procurement law to ensure compliance with sustainable procurement practices.
The event was graced by the Deputy Director General, Ms. Olive Lumonya, and attended by over 200 service providers and contractors. Additionally, members of the Executive Committee, Managers, the Contracts Committee, Procurement Staff, and other UCAA personnel were present.
Speakers included representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, the Uganda Revenue Authority, and the Acting Manager of Procurement.
UCAA has embraced sustainable procurement as part of its Strategic Direction for FY 2025/26, incorporating initiatives such as the Electronic Government Procurement system (reducing paper usage), the adoption of Kayoola Electric Buses, and staff training on sustainable procurement.
Moving forward, UCAA will continue to strengthen its efforts in enforcing sustainable procurement practices.
