UCAA Hosts Cybersecurity Workshop to Strengthen Aviation Resilience
The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority’s Director Human Resource and Administration, Ms. Sabah Ahmed opened a two-day Cybersecurity Workshop on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Imperial Golf Course Hotel, Entebbe, aimed at strengthening cybersecurity awareness and institutional capacity within the aviation sector.
The workshop seeks to deepen understanding of cyber risks and mitigation strategies, enhance application of ICAO’s cybersecurity framework and guidelines, and explore the role of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), in safeguarding aviation systems.
While officially opening the workshop, Ms. Sabah Ahmed emphasized the growing importance of cyber resilience in aviation. “The security and stability of our organizational cyberspace relies on our ability to prevent and respond to cyber incidents. As we embrace digital transformation, we must also build trust and confidence in our cyber systems,” she emphasized.
This marks the fourth cybersecurity workshop organized by UCAA’s IT Department, reaffirming the Authority’s ongoing commitment to building a secure and resilient digital environment in line with global aviation standards.
The workshop has brought together participants from various sectors, including IT specialists, airline representatives, immigration officials, and other key stakeholders, all working collaboratively to enhance the sector’s preparedness and response to evolving cyber threats.
