URCS Recognizes UCAA with Humanitarian Support Award
On Friday, February 20, 2026, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) was honored with an award from the Uganda Red Cross Society in recognition of its continuous support for the society’s humanitarian efforts during emergencies and disasters.
The award was presented by former AIGP Dr Fred Yiga who was the guest speaker at the National Assembly held at the society’s headquarters in Rubaga.
Red Cross Society Secretary General Mr. Robert Kwesigwa expressed his gratitude to UCAA for its unwavering voluntary support in advancing the society’s mission of saving lives and building community resilience.
UCAA’s Principal Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Kenneth Otim, received the award on behalf of the Authority. In his remarks, Mr. Otim thanked the Uganda Red Cross Society for its active participation in UCAA’s Full Scale Emergency Exercises held biennially at Entebbe International Airport, as well as in Search and Rescue sensitisation programs organized by the Authority.
The collaboration highlights commitment to enhancing safety, preparedness, and humanitarian relief efforts in the country.
